 day three

Woke up at 6am, got ready, and ate some breakfast. cleaned up and got ready, everyone was ready to go before the set time, 8am. stopped for ice at the store and came to wait at the end of the mt adams road before heading to swamp creek. it’s very nice clear sunny day, the road has dirt flying up while we try to keep up with David Lindley, Jeanette Burkhardt, and Gerard Foley. John Washines is a Fisheries tech 4 at fisheries for the Rockcreek project and STHP. Has been working for 12 years.Doug Olney is an enrolled Yakama Tribal member - retired - natural resources. Patrick Hayden started with a degree with fine arts but went back back and got a natural resources degree David Lindley - 17 yrs worked for Fisheries. Worked at forest resources - then had gotten a masters in natural resources. Jeanette - She's a watershed planner - worked for 20 yrs with the tribe - language major. Gerard - marine bio - bio - has a graduate degree - works as a habitat biologist.restoration to rehabilitate wetlands to have the flows still be resilient. Layered BDA’s (beaver dam activity) me, my coworker John, supervisor David, and Doug layered with mud/dirt. then green pine trees and rocks. then repeated. pounded some post in to hold the BDA accountable to stay up. We finally finished up, then sat down to eat our lunch and got to acknowledge our hard work. Then got to see how wide the water had gone from the dam stopping/slowing down the flow. Then built two more BDA's and postpounded a couple more post to hold the dam in place. Then had finished quick enough to grab all the gear and start making our way back up. We saw the light at the end of the tunnel when we got to the trucks with gear. Now get to cool down, hydrate, shower, and get back to camp for dinner and tomorrows travel day to Wellpinit.
